Nitrogen Gas Generator “NSP Type”

Utilizing PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) Technology

What is PSA?

PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) is a technology that separates oxygen and nitrogen from air using an adsorbent material. The NSP series employs Molecular Sieve Carbon (MSC) as the adsorbent.

Features of MSC

MSCとは英文

MSC has ultra-fine pores (0.30–0.40 nm) and exploits the slight molecular size difference between oxygen (0.28 nm) and nitrogen (0.30 nm) for separation.

MSCSEM

  • Precisely controlled pore diameter
  • Spherical particles ranging from 1–20 μm (confirmed via SEM)
  • Designed based on adsorption modeling

Development Concept of the NSP Series

  1. Superior Energy Efficiency
    • Achieves high performance even with low airflow, compatible with domestic compressors
    • Improved PSA operation method (MB-PT) enables high-purity nitrogen generation up to 99.999%
    • Reduces running costs (approx. ¥1.17 million saved annually, 50 tons less CO₂ emissions)
  2. Space-Saving and Flexible Installation
    • Compact and lightweight design inherited from the S-type
    • Freely installable in various spaces
  3. Enhanced Durability
    • Strengthened filters and activated carbon chambers (double the volume)
    • Pre-treatment life extended from 4,000 to 6,000 hours
    • High-durability valve (B-manufacturer, lifespan increased by 1.5x)

Features of the New MSC “MG4”

MSC-1

Compared to conventional materials, particle size is uniformly reduced to 1.5 μm (previously ~20 μm), significantly improving adsorption efficiency and structural strength. Enables effective use of pellet interior.

Evolved PSA Operation: MB-PT Technology

PSAMB-PT

Developed by AWI Laboratory and licensed under APCI patent. Introducing a pressure equalizing line from the middle to the inlet of the adsorption tower achieves:

  • Improved efficiency for high-purity nitrogen (99.9%+)
  • Significant performance gain in the ultra-high purity range (99.999%)
  • Expansion into fields like semiconductors, heat treatment, and laser applications
